Meet the Team
Built on Experience.
Driven by Passion.
With more than 100 years of combined experience in the powersports industry, our team has earned a reputation for precision craftsmanship, honest work, and a genuine passion for helping riders get the most out of their machines. Based in Heber City, Utah, we proudly serve riders from Park City, Midway, the Wasatch Back, and across the entire state of Utah who rely on us for dependable repair, performance upgrades, and expert guidance.
And for those wondering about the name—“PowerChicken Offroad” comes from a long-standing nickname for owner Collin Hicken, a bit of shop lore that eventually became part of the brand’s identity.
Collin Hicken
Technician 1st, Owner 2nd
Collin Hicken has been in the powersports world for 27 years, starting at age 11 when he first began tearing into engines just to understand what made them tick. He grew up in the shop, absorbing everything from the parts counter to the service bay. Honda, Yamaha, and Polaris certified, Collin has spent his life breaking, rebuilding, tuning, and experimenting with anything that has a motor. He was lucky enough to grow up with a full motocross track in the yard—spending a decade riding MX daily, jumping into freestyle, racing in the desert, and getting into snowbiking when it was still a taboo idea that only a few people were brave enough to try.
-
PowerChicken was born purely out of Collin’s obsession. Motorcycles probably saved his life, and they became the outlet that shaped everything he does. What drives him most is the process—understanding a bike on a mechanical level, learning its personality, and shaping it into something that fits its rider like a tailored suit. He doesn’t believe machines are one-size-fits-all. Every rider has a different style, strength, riding background, terrain preference, and even attitude, and Collin loves dialing a bike in so it becomes a perfect extension of that person. Whether it’s engine work, porting, tuning, suspension setup, ergonomics, or tiny performance tweaks that only a specific rider would notice, he is obsessed with making each build feel absolutely right for that individual. When the final product comes together—unique, responsive, and tuned to the rider’s identity—that’s the payoff. That’s why he does what he does.
Collin’s riding style leans toward aggressive trail and hard enduro, mostly because he loves the combination of suffering, problem-solving, and finally reaching a destination that feels earned. Snowbiking hits an entirely different thrill level and lets him blend all the things he loves about riding into one chaotic, perfect winter addiction. And when the desert opens up, there’s nothing better than going way too fast just to feel alive.
When he’s not in the shop, Collin can be found riding or spending time with his wife and kids. They are the ones who keep life balanced, grounded, and meaningful. Family brings the joy, motorcycles bring the therapy, and together they keep him running full throttle in all the right ways.
Tearing into engines, porting, making big performance gains, putting everything back together, and then testing the results—that is Collin’s version of bliss. That’s the craft. That’s the art form. And the name “PowerChicken Offroad” comes from a nickname short for Collin Hicken that stuck and eventually became part of the brand’s identity.
Travis Rasmussen
General Manager
Travis has been part of the PowerChicken Offroad team for 4 years, but his experience with motorcycles and 4-wheelers stretches back to childhood, growing up riding on the family ranch. That ranch work ethic carries through to everything he does—from managing the shop to helping riders dial in their machines. Before joining the powersports world full-time, Travis served in law enforcement in Northern Utah and Montana, bringing discipline, problem-solving, and a strong sense of responsibility to the shop.
-
He joined PowerChicken because it’s a place filled with people who share his love and passion for the sport and a commitment to quality work. Travis believes that a good ride doesn’t have to come on a brand-new machine—every rider is at a different chapter in life, and every ride should match that individual. For him, working here is like being in a candy shop: it’s fun, rewarding, and full of opportunities to help riders get the most out of their machines while enjoying every minute of the process.
When he’s on the trails, Travis enjoys trail riding, pushing his limits and improving his skills while still taking in the scenery and sharing the ride with friends and family. Riding gives him freedom, a chance to let go of the daily grind, and a way to recharge. Off the trails, he loves spending time with his family outdoors, soaking in fresh air, and enjoying the simple joys of life.
In the shop, Travis thrives on helping people find the right ride and setting it up perfectly for them—whether it’s gearing up for a weekend adventure or fine-tuning a machine to match a rider’s unique style. He loves that the industry is always growing, enjoys learning and improving, and brings that curiosity and dedication to every interaction at PowerChicken. For Travis, motorcycles aren’t just a job—they’re a lifestyle, a passion, and a chance to help others live theirs to the fullest.
Kirk Smith
Technician
Kirk has been working with engines and machines for most of his life, bringing 6 years of powersports experience, 5 years as an auto mechanic, 8 years as an electrician, and 10 years in HVAC to the shop. His love for motorcycles started at age 12—when his parents wouldn’t buy him one, he hunted down broken bikes and made them run. That determination and hands-on curiosity paid off, setting him on a path to becoming a skilled technician who thrives on problem-solving and big projects.
-
Kirk joined PowerChicken Offroad because it’s a small, local, hometown company—the kind of place that feels real, not corporate. Having known the PCO family since he was a youngster, it was a natural fit to bring his skills and experience to the team.
When it comes to riding, Kirk is all about single track. Riding gives him a chance to forget the rest of the world and immerse himself in the trails. Off the bike, he enjoys spending time with his family, riding dirt bikes, and being outdoors.
In the shop, Kirk thrives on bigger, hands-on projects. Engine rebuilds, long-term repairs, and complex performance work are his specialty—he loves taking something apart, making it better, and bringing it back to life. For Kirk, working on bikes isn’t just a job—it’s a way to combine his passion, skill, and love of motorcycles every day.
Colten Hallows
Technician
Colten brings a diverse mechanical background to PowerChicken Offroad, with 3 years in powersports, 2 years in diesel, 2 years in automotive, and experience with heavy-duty tractors. He also holds a diesel mechanics degree and has been riding motorcycles for 12 years, giving him both the technical skill and the rider’s perspective to tackle any bike that rolls into the shop.
Colten joined PowerChicken because it’s a great, family-owned shop with reliable, talented people—exactly the kind of place where he can do what he loves and be part of a team that cares.
-
On the bike, Colten is all about motocross. He thrives on the thrill of being constantly on the edge, loves being on the throttle, and enjoys the challenge of keeping control while pushing limits. Fresh tracks, high speeds, and the occasional battle with gravity keep him coming back for more.
Off the bike, Colten enjoys videography, capturing the world from new perspectives and blending his creative side with his love for motorcycles. In the shop, he focuses on suspension and engine work—especially performance engine projects where he can tune, tweak, and elevate every ride. For Colten, motorcycles are both passion and playground.
Corby Earl
Service Manager
Corby has been in the powersports world for 25 years, attending the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, where he graduated in 2002. Since then, he’s done it all—working in service departments for every brand, running stores, guiding motorcycle tours, and even handling sales and parts along the way. But no matter the role, Corby has always done it for one reason: love of the sport.
These days, Corby is all about adventure riding. Starting on street bikes at 17, he naturally progressed to adventure bikes so he could explore more of the world from behind the handlebars—logging 10,000–12,000 miles a year.
-
Off the clock, Corby enjoys motorcycle travel, exploring new places, taking care of his indoor plants, and pursuing his love of European bikes after a decade working with Ducati, Triumph, and BMW. Music is another big part of his life.
At PowerChicken Offroad, Corby thrives on routine maintenance. He loves knocking out jobs efficiently, seeing a variety of bikes throughout the day, and keeping riders moving. For Corby, motorcycles aren’t just work—they’re life.
Bennett Bartley
Parts Manager
With 19 years in the powersports world, Bennett knows bikes, snowmobiles, and all the gear that keeps them going. A true street bike enthusiast, he loves exploring the mountains on two wheels and soaking in the freedom of the open road.
He’s been part of the PowerChicken Offroad family for years, having known Collin personally and trusting his vision completely. Being part of the team means helping riders find exactly what they need and keeping the shop running smoothly.
-
When he’s not helping customers, Bennett is spending time with family, snowmobiling in the winter, or riding his motorcycle any chance he gets. His favorite part of the job is connecting with people, helping them feel taken care of, and seeing their excitement when they find the perfect part for their ride.
